Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is an Exhibit Contractor?
A: K&J has been contracted by the show promoter to provide the labor, equipment and services to exhibitors required to produce the event.  We can provide you with accessories like LCD Computer Screens, additional tables, plants, wastebaskets, additional chairs, counters, and exhibit sales & rentals.

Q: What Is the Accessory Order Form?
A: K&J offers exhibitors several choices to help furnish their booth. From display sales/rentals to wastebaskets, additional tables, carpets, monitors and DVD players - - we’ve got you covered or can find it for you. Please use the Accessory Order Form to order whatever you think you might need for your booth. Advance orders are appreciated, “floor orders” have limited availability.

Q: What is Drayage?
A: Drayage is material handling. We charge you based on the weight of your shipment. Our service includes receiving your shipment at our warehouse, delivery to your booth, storage of empty packing materials and return of outbound shipment from booth to loading dock.

Q: How Do I Ship My Materials?
A: You can use whatever carrier you prefer. Please do not ship your materials directly to the show site. Most venues do not have facilities to store or handle your materials prior to the show — you’ll also be on your own to find them and get them to your booth when you are setting up.  Use K&J’s convenient shipping/drayage service and get your materials delivered directly to your booth. We’ll even help you get your materials sent back after the show.

Q: Can I Pay With A Credit Card?
A: We accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard , Discover and American Express. A credit card authorization is required for all credit card orders.

Q: May I Place My Order In Advance And Pay For It When I Arrive At Show Site?
A: K&J Convention Services requires full payment when your order is placed. We require a credit card authorization form for all credit card orders.  Orders received without payment will not be processed. A reminder…..if you anticipate the need for material handling at your event site, you will need to have a credit card authorization on file at K&J.

Q: Who Is Responsible For The Security Of My Booth And All The Items In It?
 A:   - - - >  Bottom Line:  YOU ARE.
Rented booth space is similar to other types of rental property in that you must take the appropriate measures to protect your belongings from loss or damage. The best way to accomplish this is by consulting with your insurance agent about adding riders to existing policies. You can also rent a security guard for your booth.

Here are some tips on how to minimize theft and damage to your trade show materials:

  1. Even though Security guards are hired to guard the main doors, don’t assume that the exhibit hall is secure. At the end of the day, cover your exhibit with a cloth. The psychological deterrent makes a difference.

  2. Don’t list the contents of crates and cartons on your shipping labels. A label that reads “42-inch LCD Monitor” is an open -invitation for theft.

  3. Never leave your booth unattended during heavy move-in or move-out times.

  4. Never leave one-of-a-kind items unattended in your booth.

  5. Don’t leave business tools like laptop computers, calculators and stereos in your booth. Take them with you at the end of the day, or place them in locked storage.

  6. Don’t leave your purse, suit jacket or toolbox in your booth unattended.

Q: What Does My Booth Include?
A: Each event is different. Please refer to your confirmation letter from K&J or contact your show promoter.

Q: Can I Substitute An Item That Is Included In My Booth Package?
A: Most often this occurs with tables. For example: your show management has chosen a 6’ table for you, and you need an 8’ or 4' table. We offer Table Upgrades for tables that are included in your booth fee. Just upgrade before the Advance Order Deadline and you can get a different size table for $10, or upgrade to a counter for $15! If you arrive at the show and need to change your table size, you'll be charged for a new table at full price. Upgrades are only available at shows where a table is provided with your booth, and come only in the show color chosen by the producer.

Q: What Are Exhibitor ID Signs?
A: Exhibitor ID Signs may be part of your standard booth equipment. They are 7" X. 44" signs on card stock. Depending on what is chosen for your particular show, the sign usually includes your company name and booth number. Show management supplies the company name to us.

Q: Is Carpet Included?
A: Each event has different criteria in regards to carpet. Please refer to the cover letter of your Exhibitor confirmation for more specific information. Of course, you can always contact us or show management regarding floor coverings.

Q: Can I Order Flowers Or Plants?
A: K&J only offers artificial plants on the Accessory Order Form. If you need the name of a local florist, please contact us, and we’ll try to help you locate one.
